Poetry - Where Am I ?

Day after day, night after night. After supper I turn the upper light, I slop onto my bed and accidentally hit my head. Diving into blanket sheets mum told me to eat cough sweets. A mountain of words travelled into my head about something to do with those little nerds. Time for sleep I dream about a jeep quick as a flash I like to smash and crash.

Where am I?

Today we learnt how to use sentences starters to start our sentences differently and use interesting vocabulary

The Dentists

This place always gives me the willies as soon as I entered the double doors, to the waiting room.

All I saw was an automatic chair where patients sat down and prepared to get torchered.  Sharp tool hitched hiked into their mouths like little bugs.

The medical smell tried to enter my nose, while I was desperate for fresh air.

Hungrly the wet chair seemed to eat me up, but I always escape the terror.

Loudly buzzing noises traveled into my ears, water was injected into my mouth ‘Glug, glug, glug’

When I finished getting torchered, numbness filled my lips, I saw kids trying to run away from the murder house but failed with tears.

As I walked out, I thought to myself, ‘Could there be another place as horrible as this?’

Descriptive Writing

Descriptive Writing

Describing a setting

I heard laughter and excitement as I stood on the fake grass, crew members hooked me up onto a log rope that was worked by a pulley Then I started to go up. I climbed and climbed until I reach the top. I looked down and saw a pair of three cheering I went back down the pieces of wood and landed at the bottom.
Where am I?

Describe a person

This annoying little creature scratches people like a ferocious cat, but only if you mess with him so you better not. He loves sports cars just like my uncle. I don't know why how he started this habit but he gives away your secrets, so don’t tell him yours.
Who is he?

(Oh by the way he laughs like a pig)

My voice was clear and loud.  I didn’t speak too quickly or too slowly.

My speech had a message and was original, interesting and relevant to the audience.

I used ‘powerful’ words in my speech.  I also included some language features (eg repetition, alliteration, similes etc)

My speech was between 2 ½ and 3 ½ minutes long.

(‘Sniff, Sniff’) Ahhh the smell of Fast food. When I say Fast food what comes to mind first? Is it McDonalds, KFC, french fries, Pringles or is it Burger King. Well my name is Anthony and If you are wondering why I am talking about Fast food well, I believe that us kids should be able to eat Fast food whenever we want. Yeh parent you heard me we should eat more fast food. The first reason why kids should eat Fast food is because there are actually types of Fast food that are healthy for you. Now, you parents might wonder how in the world Fast foods is healthy for you but believe it or not they can be. Kathleen Davis reported in 2015 that the “wasted” salad, which consists almost entirely of carrot peels, broccoli stalks, roasted bread heels, cabbage cores, and other ingredients that are usually tossed out into gardens and bins but it also waste our money and the cook's time. On the other hand fast food is more cheaper, you don’t need to cook and more delicious than boring old lettuce. Secondly for more than fifty years, eating at fast-food restaurants has been an almost clinically impersonal experience: the food is rapidly prepared, remarkably cheap, utterly uniform, and served immediately. The cheeseburger you get at a McDonald’s in Orlando is exactly the same as the one you get at a McDonald’s in San Francisco, Montreal, or Little Rock. Each month, more than two hundred million people eat at least one meal at one of the hundred and sixty thousand fast-food restaurants in the United States. McDonald’s alone serves twenty-six million people every day at its fourteen thousand American outlet more than the population of Australia. Millions more visit Burger King, Wendy’s, Subway, Pizza Hut, Dunkin’ Donuts, KFC, as well as the other chains that occupy virtually every highway, strip mall, and town center in the nation. Have i convinced you with all of my delicious reasons why we should eat more fast food well you better be convinced otherwise you better eat more fast food.
